I would highly recommend Dar's Country Market. We shop there often and always have a positive experience there. They cary a wide range of local meats, baked goods, spices and fresh produce. They have some gluten free and vegan options as well. Dar and her staff are amazing and are happy to answer any questions you may have. The quality of their products is outstanding and we are never left disappointed. My personal favourites are the prime rib burgers and their homemade salmon dip. If you find yourself in Elora, definitely find your way to Dar's Country Market. You will not be disappointed.
Friendly staff. Lots of ready made products, fresh deli and local made sauces, dressings and hot meals to go. It’s a great sign when the people shopping are in good spirits recommending their favourites. From people on a regular Saturday motorcycle ride to families traveling an hour to pick up seafood, I knew there was something to this place. Amazed that a rural market makes authentic both flavourful Jamaican patties and samosa. I didn’t get photos this time around. Will add pictures soon.this place deserves another visit. The biker rides there every week for Caesar salad dressing. The reviews seem to hype everything. I wasn’t disappointed and recommend you enter and try at least something that speaks to you.
From the staff to their market selections, you can NEVER go wrong. So friendly and delicious meats/sauces, etc. Love visiting when I pass through. It wouldn't be a road trip without stopping in there first. Ps. PLEASE always have your green goddess salad dressing in stock lol its a family favorite ?
My wife and I were visiting Elora last weekend and decided to stop at Dars to see what they had, turns out they have just about everything, we picked up a bunch of items and on our way out I noticed they had some smoked chicken sitting on tin foil at the counter, I spoke to a guy named Jackson he told me that they smoke chicken and ribs there all the time so I decided to grab 5 pieces ( thighs) for 20 bucks, the pieces were huge by the way, perfectly smoked with just the right amount of heat, I've had smoked chicken at a number of places and these were hands down the best I've ever had.
You absolutely need to check out their gluten free baked goodies!!! And their pies are always incredible. My favourite is strawberry creme, available in June! It's a treasure trove of delicacies!!
They had me at the smoked jerk chicken wings and homemade fresh banana bread at the door. Farm fresh produce and meats. Friendly knowledgeable staff. James will take care of you!
I like going for weekend drives out here with my wife. We love their breads and I absolutely love their schnitzel. We usually get about 20 of those every time we go lol. Thanks guys.
